A clearer direction: faithful gameplay with modern services

The project adopted its execution-first modernization strategy: preserve the original game logic through recompilation, connect it to modern platform services, and advance toward a live native menu and Training. This kept the work focused on bringing the original game forward.

The integration approach

The runtime would supply modern graphics, windowing, input, audio, memory, and synchronization services behind recovered game-facing contracts. Behaviorally important state, ownership, callbacks, initialization effects, and failure paths still had to be respected.

Original-compatible behavior remained the baseline. Optional enhancements would need their own comparisons, and unknown required services were not allowed to masquerade as successful implementations.

Reviewing the foundation

Independent reviews checked existing startup evidence, current source identities, and the boundaries of the Vulkan presenter and replay tools. Application-path work connected the command-line parser toward the next allocation and initialization boundary.

The accepted startup count stayed at 131 of 144. New probes, static maps, replay results, and preparation work did not become extra native-game acceptance credit.

Revisiting cinematic quality

Earlier opening-cinematic upgrade experiments were withdrawn at the user's request. A revised local approach preserved the original picture width, worked from the selected 2:1 excerpt, and investigated text legibility without treating frame interpolation or reframing as a default improvement.

What came next

The next objective was one integrated native host with justified startup state, live application callbacks, and real rendering produced by translated game code.
